I've been on dA for 13 years and have stuck around mostly out of nostalgia. I considered deactivating and leaving after the rollout of eclipse but due to still being in a rp group at the time, I stayed. For the last few years, I have felt incredibly detached from dA, and it's more of an afterthought than anything. I remember the days when I would always be on dA, drawing and uploading art and talking to people, but over the years as people have left and I've gotten older and tireder, it seems just like a ghost of what it used to be. It sucks because in it's prime, dA was the place to be if you were an artist. I amassed 2k followers during my time here, and while most of them are probably inactive, it was still an achievement. After the AI support BS, I think I finally have the push I need to let it go. The Dream AI or whatever it's called was the final nail in the coffin to an already dying website. Yes, they are clarifying and responding to the backlash over the AI mess, and making changes to it, but the fact they rolled this out without asking for any feedback from their community has left me not wanting to use this platform anymore. I won't deactivate or delete anything for now - I might change my mind in the future though - but I'm not going to be uploading anything new from here on out.

This opening, we will not be making a limit on how many people can make reservations.  However, we are going to be more thorough in our final decision on characters and individuals that will join this time around.  We’d prefer to have members who are more active and will have fun in the community that we love dearly.  As far as characters go, we are trying to keep the houses fairly balanced. You can take a look at our character registry ‘statistics’ tab to determine what we already have in the group.  Of course, this doesn’t mean that everyone should be making a Slytherin just because they’re in high demand at the moment.  Make a character that you love.  We’d rather have a character who is going to let you have a fun time rather than a cookie cutter kid who was made to just fit the mould. 

One last thing to note: This opening, Old Bloods will not be accepted and Purebloods will be highly scrutinised. In this group, a pureblood is considered a wizard who can trace back at LEAST three generations of purely wizard forebears. Please read this lovely document by our amazing loremaster that explains the topic in more detail if you have any questions.  Remember, a half blood can be an individual who a) has two wizarding parents and b) can be fully immersed in the wizarding world.  So if that’s the only reason you want to have a pureblood character, those traits are easily found in half bloods as well.

♦ dA eclipse sucks and we are no longer notified of new comments on our journals before the switch, so please bare with us as we navigate the new algorithm. After this opening, we are transiting to Discord only and uploading our journals to a private website.

Prefects

When it comes to being a prefect, you must know that your duty above all else is to maintain order and peace on campus by helping regulate your fellow students' behaviors. It is not only a badge that you wear on your uniform but a responsibility you must take seriously!

How Prefects Work

Prefects have different roles that they play on the Hogwarts campus. Here are some duties that they will have to do if they choose to take on the role:

►Students from each house between years 5-7 are selected for these roles.

►Prefects can take away points. ONLY FROM THEIR OWN HOUSE

►Prefects can hand out detentions to rule-breaking students.

►Patrolling around campus is a must. Watch out for students breaking curfew!

►Helping other students find their way around campus (especially those new students and 1st years!)

►Manage and help run student clubs, such as Dueling, Care of Creatures, Herbology and Plating, Frog Choir, Arts and Crafts etc.

How to become a Prefect

Students can become prefects by showing that they are trustworthy and reliable for this role. You will either be offered this position by someone on the Mod Team OR you may send in an application.

If you would like your character to become a prefect you must fit these requirements:

► Highly active on our Discord server

► Have a character that would be eligible for becoming a Prefect.

Once you have decided that you feel eligible for the Prefect position, please DM a note to the group with this form:

From there, the Mod Team will decide if your character is eligible for the position.

If you aren't active in the server we may ask that you have your Prefect Badge revoked.

Announcement to all Applicants:

This will be Incendio-RP’s final public opening, in which after this we will be invite only. This time around, we will be doing things a little differently this time around compared to our very first opening: The discord will be open to applicants and we will give you two weeks in which to complete and submit your apps - deadline extensions might be given to certain people if we know your circumstances. No applications will be accepted until after the deadline, in which mods will go through the apps and accept those who we think will make a good fit to our current member base.

Incendio RP’s rating has been changed to 18+

Because of this, we will no longer be accepting any members under the age of 18. Upon joining our server, you will need to introduce yourself, in which telling us your age is required. If you are under the age of 18, your application will not be accepted. We apologize for this inconvenience. We might make considerations for people though that are very close to turning 18. Depending if you know any of our current members, we can also consider putting you on a wait-list until you come of age.

No, this does not mean that mature artworks and smut will fill the group server - we still maintain the same rules that anything involving characters under-aged is 100% banned from the group and anything NSFW will not be allowed outside the appropriate chat. We have noticed that a good number of our member base are adults, and some past roleplays with members can end up being dark or mature in nature, and themes such as injuries of characters, family drama and troubling history, bias and clashes of character personality can get intense for some, and we have decided that it best to limit the age of our members as we are aware that some themes might be daunting for anyone under 18.

Certain themes will be banned, others heavily checked:

Any mention of Incest, rape and slavery anywhere in a character’s history or personality will not be allowed in the group, so we ask that members refrain from making characters with any mention of these in their apps. Themes such as extreme racism (against colour or race), homophobia, trans-phobia or sexism will be heavily scrutinized by moderators and you may be asked to dial it down. It’s okay for a character to ‘not agree with’ or ‘understand’ particular lifestyles, sexual alignments or genders, but we will put our foot down to characters outright intensely bullying someone over this. While we know these characters aren’t real, these themes are. We do however ask that people remember separation between Self and OC and understand that an OC’s motivations and values don’t necessarily reflect that of the creator.
